July 2, 2006 Departing Penzance, if a bit later than anticipated. Boots didn't open until after 10 (it was scheduled for 10, but apparently the whole store can't open if the pharmacist isn't there, so since she was late .... ) -- anyway, I had to have something for the ridiculous, enormous rash on my lower legs, which flared up during the game. Weirdly, there was no visible hydrocortisone or benadryl, so I made off with some kind of calamine something and a tube of antiseptic, numbing cream, and off I went. It said 13 miles for the day, so by 10:30 I was going to need to make some tracks. But it was a gorgeous, sunny day and walking along the coastline like this was delightful. I took a sample of sand for a friend at work who collects such things, and left Penzance behind, heading for a rock in the distance called St. Michael's Mount. |
