Yeah, so, second day: A lot fewer photos! All worked out well, except that it wasn't such a nice day and the itching and the long hike. But mostly it was a good walk, with some interesting spots along the way. Above is the Lizard lighthouse (yes, there's a town called Lizard), and this is the most southerly point in the UK, a fact which gets much mileage locally. |

| A wider view of the approach to Lizard. Finding the B&B -- Parc Brawse House -- was a bit of a challenge, this time because of overly vague directions on the part of my trip organizers, Contours Walking Tours. At one point they tell you to "follow the path across two fields to meet a minor road" and then gives you no sense of how far you walk to get to those fields. Fortunately, I located a local who was walking home in the rain and she guided me to the correct road, so it all worked out well, although I did have to go the long way 'round. | |

| Never made it here, owing to rain, but this is the Most Southerly Cafe, on the Most Southerly Point. I suppose at that moment I was the Most Southerly American, but I never did a poll. | |

| Landed at the B&B, which
did not offer dinner, so I headed back into town after getting cleaned
up, and picked around until I found something worth bringing back. It was
so quiet and empty in town; it wasn't really much later than 7pm, but there
just wasn't anything happening, not even tourists. I guess blame the weather.
As for the B&B, I neglected
to take pictures. The wrap up? Another two-bed/single-bed combo, with only
the single bed made up (tacky) and only squirt hand soap in the bathroom,
no bar soap (also tacky). Nevertheless, it was comfortable and the people
seemed nice. (Fortunately, the best place to stay on the whole trip was
up next.)
